Confirmation

This Sacrament is usually received in the spring of the 8th grade year.  Two years of successful Faith Formation is required. 

On the Solemnity of Pentecost, Sunday, June 5, the Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered by the Pastor, Fr. Ric. Young parishioners who are currently in the 8th grade are eligible. Naturally, they are required to complete the two-year for-mation program, retreat, interview, service hours, etc. The time of the Confirmation Ceremony will be announced in the near future. In 2023, the Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered to our 8th grade (those who are currently in Faith Formation - Level 7. The date and time will be announced next year. Bishop Bambera will celebrate the Sacrament in the spring of 2023 in our parish.

PARISH MEMBERSHIP & SPONSORSHIP ELIGIBILITY CARDS

Recently, we have received a number of requests for sponsor eligibility cards to be a Godparent for Baptism or a Sponsor for Confirmation from adults who never formally registered in our parish. Some of them are still listed as children under their parents and they are now in their 30s, 40s, or even 50s.

We only give sponsor forms to those who are actively attending weekly mass, registered in our parish and participating in the life of our Parish. There are no exceptions. If you are not registered at this time and receiving mailings from our parish, contact the Parish Office this week to schedule an appointment with our Pastor to join or rejoin on your own.

After graduation from high school or college, if you remain in this area, you are expected and required to join a Catholic parish. You cannot simply say that your parents belong here or your grandparents founded our church, or that you received sacraments here as a youth, etc. you must be a registered and active parishioner yourself.

Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated and will avoid unpleasant situations and embarrassment.
