LECTORS

Lectors proclaim the first and second readings at Mass. In the absence of a cantor or deacon they may also read the responsorial psalm or announce the intentions of the prayer of the faithful.  Lectors are invited to serve by the Pastor and are trained in proclamation of Scripture.

Adults (age 18 and over) are needed to assist at Mass as Readers or Eucharistic Ministers. Training is provided. If you desire to take Holy Communion to the Homebound we will also meet with you to discuss how to receive and transport the consecrated host, the appropriate procedure for administering communion at home or in nursing or assisted living facilities or hospital settings as well as the empathy and compassion in serving as a conduit of Christ's presence to the parish. Please let Fr. Ric, Deacon Maurice or Ed Slusarczyk, our Liturgy Coordinator know if you would like to be considered for one of these liturgical ministries.

LECTOR WORKBOOKS FOR THE 2026-2027

Lectors are asked to pick up their workbooks for the upcoming liturgical year in the sacristy of both churches. Your name is printed on the booklet. They begin on the weekend of November 28-29, the First Sunday of Advent, and beginning of Cycle B. You are encouraged to prayerfully read and practice the Sunday readings at home the week prior to your assigned date. Any questions, please contact Edward Slusarczyk, the Coordinator of our Parish Liturgy Committee, at eslusarczyk@hotmail.com. New Lectors are always welcome. Training is provided. The only requirements are that you have a very clear and audible speaking voice and a deep love for proclaiming the Good News.
