Budget Overview for 2022-23 School Year
Discussion:
Ending Balance $1,872.93
Field trips not included because it hasn’t been included since 2020
Back to normal? Yes, but transportation has potential to change last minute due to staffing,
Why catered meals for conferences? Since 2020, it’s preferred by teachers for individual portions vs. potluck

Funding Requests
Book Fair, R. Long asking for $1,600, $50/class for teachers, 31 classrooms
Motion to Approve: H. Skedell, 2nd A. McFarland
Ballet Met Nutcracker (3rd Grade), T. Cinereski asking for $100 deposit to book plus money not to exceed $1,500, $8/student which is subject to a Columbus Arts fee
Discussion:
In past it was split, $5 from pto and $3 from parents
If not paid in full by 12/1, cost goes to $10/student
PTO paid $704.20 in 2019
If parents send in extra funds (ie. to cover cost of others), excess $ stays in field trip line item and does not expire
Motion to Amend: H. Ward, 2nd J. Hiller–$5/student, not to exceed $700 including $100 deposit,
Vote: All in favor, 0 opposed–Approved!
Marion Palace Theater “Jacquiline and the Beanstalk” (1st Grade), T. Cinereski asking for money not to exceed $650, $4/student
Discussion:
Should music have future line item vs. grade level field trip?
Motion to Amend: K. McCune, 2nd R. Long– $2 from PTO and $2 from parents, cost not to exceed $250,
Vote: All in favor, 0 opposed–Approved!
Spelling Bee Entrance Fee (3rd-5th), D. Wise asking for $50 with possible $10 fee with check
Motion to Approve: H. Ward, 2nd M. Kelly for $50

4.Committee Reports
Committees Needed: *Would like 1 point person to lead with lots of hands to help
Fundraising (Mums Update & Sales)
Increased student participation (212 participants), 1,292 items sold, $6,290.50 profit,
Volunteers still needed to unload and sort
Will reach out to Key Club
Fundraising (November/December Winter Fundraiser)
Hat Creek Designs–Vinyl designed shirts (including Schultz specific items), garden flags, cutting boards, etc., can hold fundraiser at any time, order through website, shipped to school, 3 week sale, turn around time about 7-10 days
Discussion:
Can there be prizes? Pizza party/gift cards/lunch with principal,/donuts,etc. But cost of prizes comes from profit
Can there be free prize by grade?
Hold fundraiser in early November, reward Tuesday before Thanksgiving

Staff Appreciation (P/T Conference Meals, October 5th & 13th)
Budget for the year: $1600, $400/night

Secret Santa– M. Kelly, H.Ward
Event for K, 1, 2nd grade parents–Sat. Dec 10 9-2pm, line the halls with vendors, Secret Santa Shop in gym, games, crafts, art show, Hayes music, serve light snacks, raffle (50cents each, donations/themed basket by grade), proceeds stay in house for Giving Tree to provide holiday meal and gifts for families in need
Need help to take over games/crafts/shop–High school students?, H. Stake interested in helping
Need vendors–posted to Schultz PTO facebook today, $20/vendor deposit

Presented bylaws for everyone to review and vote in October

Volunteers Needed for Mum pick up on September 17
Scholastic Book Fair (October 3th-13th)
5th and 13th during conferences open to shop
Volunteers needed to help write lists, help shop, etc
Sign ups can email Mrs. Long directly
