Schultz Elementary PTO

Meeting Date: October 11, 2022                    Meeting Location: Flex Room

Attendance: Tyra Baisden, Lauren Carr, Lisa Coregerson, Kelly Craig, Jenn Kaser, Sallie Heinlen, Jayme Hiller, Michelle Kelly, Nichole Lizak, Rose Long, Katie McCune, Kristina McDonald, Andrea McFarland, Angela Miley, Jay Miley, Vanessa Mrazek, Becca Raker, Bree Saunders, Holly Skedell, Lauren Skillen, Heather Stake, Lindsay Stamm, Melissa Stansbery, Heather Ward, Ameelius Whipple, Michael Wiener, Valerie Woodruff

1. Call to Order at 7:04pm

2. Minutes: Review of minutes from 9/13/22 meeting (in Google Drive)

• Motion to approve: K. McCune, 2nd L. Carr

3. Treasurer’s Report

·       Current Balance: $11,032.66

• Funding Requests

  • 501c3 fee, L. Skillen asking for $275 fee needed to file for 501c3 to IRS open up for additional fundraisers

    • We can pull from “General Expenses” ($450 budgeted)

    • Motion to Approve: J. Kaser, 2nd A. Miley

  • Veteran’s Day Breakfast, Building Leadership Team asking to split estimated $200 cost for coffee, orange juice, donuts/muffins for community members

    • Mr. Woodworth could spend Principal’s Fund on student breakfast, but not visitors

Discussion: 

• Would need to pull from another line item to move funds. Can we have a misc. line in the future?  Will have winter fundraiser funds coming in

• Motion not to exceed $125: R. Long, 2nd J. Kaser

• Vote: All In favor, 0 opposed--Approved!

4. Committee Reports

• Fundraising

  • Mum Fundraiser– Thank you!

  • Winter Fundraiser– Spirit Wear Sale

    • Black, white, or grey; tshirts, long sleeve, hoodies starting at $23 each, earning $5 per item.

    • Can be shipped for $8 flat rate

    • Will receive everything 7-10 days after we close the sale

    • Begin week of November 7-27th (to include Black Friday) shoot for delivery with wiggle room Dec. 5 to sort and pick up at Secret Santa (if it’s a gift)

    • Items will be individually packaged and wrapped

Discussion:

• **Need to do in future before first spirit day** (Add to May meeting agenda for discussion)

• Idea to buy old leftovers/new at back to school night?  

• Staff Appreciation

  • Conference Meals (October 5 & 13th)

    • Bob Evans last week under budget

    • This week Jimmy Johns should be under budget also

• Secret Santa

  • Dec. 10 9am-2pm

5. Principal’s Report – Mrs. Baisden

•   Thank you for being here and for conference meals

•  Everyone appreciates, support, field trips, etc.

6. Old Business

• Vote on PTO Bylaws

Discussion: 

• Changes included dates, added 2 people to bank account

• Motion to Approve: A. Miley, 2nd H. Skedell *will add these names to bylaws

• Vote: All approved, 0 opposed- Approved!

7. New Business

• Scholastic Book Fair (currently-13th) 

• Mr. Stewart (Human Resources)—Classroom and Classified substitutes needed 

8. Co-President's Report

• OASEA Hall of Fame Nomination—can nominate school principals, secretaries, administrators, Hall of Fame School Award etc. 

  • Principal must be a member and $ earned would go to principal’s fund

  • L. Skillen will fill out nomination form and share in November

•  “Thank You” cards to PTO shared by L. Skillen

• Next meeting will be Tuesday, November 8 @ 7 pm
