Events
Spring Fling (May 12)- planning committee needed to plan in March/April
Dance/DJ/popcorn/lemonade/photo booth (seek for donations or discounted), other ideas that are memorable
Family event, not a drop and leave event
Food outside to contain mess?
Combine with movie night outside? Would need rain date
Mid-April need to get the word out
Secret Santa - Update from H. Stake
Reached out to different stores with nicer items than Penguin Patch
Need to decide if we want to make money from it with 5-10% increase, maybe not this first year since price is already increasing—biggest selling items are $1-4
Idea to do a preview store for parents to go online to see
Booked up quickly, so would need to decide
Holiday Treasures—no need to inventory (scan items—will make faster and help with volunteers), no pay upfront
Sign in to shop and then text when it’s time
Santa is booked--$100, Dempsey singers will come
Looking for connections with food trucks—Schultz family has “The Tasty Good”
A. Miley has a 6’ tree to donate
Need to use Penguin Patch points
Fundraising
Little Caesar–delivery date not scheduled yet, allow 1 hour to count and sort before pickup, 1 volunteer per 100 items
Sold 336 items, 257 pizza, 79 Cookies, profit $2,016
Spring Fundraiser–Foertmeyer Flower Sale (3/1-3/15), pick up Mother’s Day weekend (5/13)
Catalogs have arrived
Adam (representative) suggested motivating sales
good— whole school prize, hat day/pj day
better—classroom prize, pizza party, lunch with principal
best—individual prize, top seller lunch, top 5 gets to silly string principal, movie in gym on Friday, etc., local fire department come
check with local businesses for prizes/coupons
Other ideas: breakfast with principal, ride in a police car, principal for the day, extra recess for kids (% of class so it doesn’t exclude kids who are unable to sell), pick your prize, raffle for gift card (The Strand, Amazon, etc.)
Top seller for each grade—principal for the day, king/queen of grade, breakfast with principal, lunch with principal
Market for Foertmeyer is saturated, so profits have gone down
