1. Call to Order @ 7:01pm
2. Minutes: Review of minutes from 4/8/25 meeting--Change review of minutes from 4/11/25 meeting to March--motion to approve, M. Hay, 2nd J. Schmidt
3. Co-President's Report
PTO Scholarship Update--awarded 2 $500 scholarships to Carissa Matson and Addie Reed, possible to do more in the future as class sizes grow??
4. Treasurer’s Report
Budget Update-- starting $16,815.74, ending balance $19,049.01
Line of field trips has exceeded cost, look in July to allocate accordingly-- budgeted $3,600, spent $4,893.50
Funding Requests
5th Grade Yard Signs--voted not to exceed $1,000, Company “Signs on the Cheap” was $559 and needed to order stakes, request for last day of school to volunteer per class on front playground to distribute signs, set up at 2:30 until clap out
Senior Luncheon--approved, increase from $400 to $600, $212 from staff shirts or $500 reading camp snacks, motion to move $212 from staff shirts J. Miley, 2nd A. McFarland, all in favor--approved!
Schultz Intervention Team asking to create list of items for student needs, upper elementary books for “Made for Me” curriculum, 3 ring binders, noise cancelling headphones, chair bands, $500.33--motion to approve J. Schmidt, 2nd N. Lizak--all in favor, approved!
5. Committee Reports
Events
Spring Fling (This Friday, 5/16)--Sports theme, dancing/spring training new recruits vs. MVPS, DJ to supply music (band unable to), tattoos, finger craft, Empower to be there running games, This Friday 6:30-8, help needed for set up and clean up (5:30pm)
Fundraising
APEX--started today, Monday staff huddle with tshirts, Tuesday pep rallies with students, every day they’ll have a new challenge, APEX staff is energetic, accommodating, and flexible--8 volunteers needed for each timeframe, each lap 1/16 of a mile
Staff Appreciation
Staff Appreciation Week (last week)--close to budget, staff was extremely appreciative and loved the coffee truck (easy to work with and good), 27 gift cards to raffle off, Paynes pizza gave generous discount
6. Principal’s Report – Mrs. Baisden
Staff felt special with staff appreciation, Apex seems great so far
7. Old Business
Need silly string volunteers for field day
NexTrek bench!--almost at 500lbs, post to save plastic over summer (or meet with Melissa Hay or Kristina McDonald over summer)
Alyssa McVeigh to take over PTO secretary position (amended 7/8/25 to include vote results: all in favor)
A. McFarland, has not heard back from Travis about Life Vac (cafeteria, gym, nurse, etc), still willing to donate
8. New Business
Last Pacer Buddies to do rock painting, this Thursday (set up around 1:30)--contact Logan King
