Anita Hill Trial

The Anita hill story showed everything that is wrong with society as a whole. When she formally accused Justice Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment in sent shock waves around the country. Very relevant themes were displayed in this trial from the fear of speaking out to the retaliation that Hill faced when she did speak out against Justice Thomas. Victim blaming has been going on for years and her fear to speak out was fueled by this idea. This trial also showed the racism in the media and government as many focused on the fact that both Mrs. Hill and Justice Thomas were African Americans from “poor backgrounds' ' and both attended Yale Law. It was disheartening to see race be the prevalent factor and take away from Hill’s testimony. This project was able to help link the idea that there has always been sexual harassment in our society, but up until recently people have been scared to speak out.
