Above is a representation of many feelings of young women, and what they face on college campuses. Along with the collage are news articles that go into some instances where girls were sexually assaulted or harassed on college campuses. These news articles range from the early 1900's through out the 1960's. Girls that go to college have aspirations of getting a degree, while having fun when they can, not to be sexually assaulted or harassed. Many times young girls would be touched, groped, raped, etc. without ever talking about it, or worse, speaking up about it to have no one believe them. The trauma that can come from this can be insurmountable for these young girls. The treatment of these young girls has robbed them of their innocence and confidence. Which is why I have created this collage out of magazine picture cut outs, to show the feelings that these girls may feel. But also, what it might look like, even though some girls smile they may be effected by sexual assault or harassment. But by helping and working together they are strong, and can work to combat this issue. Also, it stands as a reminder to those who have been personally assaulted or harassed that they are not alone in this fight.
