"While conviction of rape in the State of Georgia carries the death penalty, no white man has died for criminal attack on a colored woman in the Peach State, although a large number of colored men have payed the supreme penalty for rape of a white woman". Sexual assault in the south is penalized at such a skewed rate that Daniels, a 26-year-old white male, barely thought about his actions before molesting the 15-year-old colored babysitter -- he even thought about bragging about this situation to his girlfriend. The young woman, like many other instances of sexual assault, was innocently going about her day. At this moment, she was simply babysitting at her abusers girlfriends' home.
Life can change in an instant
Never know what going through one mind cause it twisted
15 years young with her whole life ahead
But in that one moment she rather not be dead
Just an innocent girl doing her job
But a few hours later all she did was sob
Sitting on the couch trying to entertain the child
The white man entered and the scene got wild
Expecting to see someone else the man froze
Young girl looked stunned as she rose to her toes
A situation that should never have transpired
An act so absurd she had never felt it prior
With death on the brink and no time to think
The white man raped her without a second blink
He then turned around and bragged to his girlfriend
Not too long after she turned him in
And how is she supposed to trust
Overtaken at a young age something much more than lust
And to trust again she could never
Little does she know her life has been changed forever
