Sexual Assault in Sports

It's no secret that sports has been one of the biggest platforms in which women have become susceptible to sexual abuse and harassment. In this collage, I highlighted just some of the newspaper articles I found in which this is demonstrated. I decided to circle the words associated with sexual assault, just to emphasize the impact and overall message. All articles are pre-1990, proving sexual assault and abuse is not a new problem within sports, and in fact has been a huge problem for some time now. As a sports journalism major, I wanted to focus on something that I have a large interest in, and the results did not disappoint (or maybe they did?). Lastly, at the top, I created a collage of what some sites say are the top 10 professional female athletes of all time, who all have endured some type of sexual assault and/or abuse while they were still playing their own respective sports.
