Born in Wyoming. Mom was a waitress and dad a cop, shot in the line of duty three months before Jesse was born.
In the Army, Iraq. Being recruited for special ops when taken prisoner by the Caliph. Spent three months as captive of one of the jihadist armies. Most of unit died in ambush-IED took out Humvee they were in. Taken in with three other soldiers, one a woman. All were killed. He was the only one to survive.
When extraction team found him, he was still alive. Immediately relieved of duty because of PTSD.
Worked at Cuffs in Florida when Alex and Eve were undercover there. Was supposed to kill Alex but missed and hit Charlotte.
Call sign “Wraith” in his old unit.
After realizing he was being used by Warren Petty, joined McKay-Taggart. Stayed there until he left with Adam, Jake, Simon, and Chelsea to start their own company.
Jesse Murdoch gets his name from the A-Team's Howling Mad Murdoch. It was a weird coincidence that my song for Jesse and Phoebe is Alexei Murdoch's "All of My Days."
Jesse is one of those characters I didn't really mean to turn into a hero. He was kind of a bad guy in On Her Master's Secret Service, but then I loved him so he got the Simon Weston treatment. It's one of the reasons they made sense as partners.
