Other information:
Parents killed in a fire when she was very young. Siblings were separated.
Mia was adopted by a lesbian couple. One was a doctor and the other stayed home with Mia.
Paired with Javier when she went undercover to find a murderer at Sanctum.
She's a journalist who's worked around the world.
Wrote a book on Damon Knight's time in the SAS.
Mia is excellent at self defense and she's got a pilot's license.
Her brothers are featured in the Lawless series, where they work to find the people who killed their parents.
Mia's book was originally supposed to be book three of a four book Lawless series. The publisher thought a three book series was the most they could do with an overarching plot and decided they would prefer to focus on the three brothers. I was unwilling to get rid of the Lawless sister, so she moved to Masters and Mercenaries and Case found his bride.
Mia fit right in with her training group and quickly became friends with the brats of Sanctum--Kori and Sarah. I love female friendships and adore putting together little groups. In this case it ended up being a foursome. Kori, Sarah, Mia and Vince would be so much fun to be around!
The song I most associate with this book is one by Aurora called "Running with the Wolves." That song sparked the idea of having Mia nearly get carted off by Theo and Robert. I had this vision of her being almost scooped up, riding the wave Theo can't get off of.
One of the things I love most about Mia is her confidence. She knows who she is and what she wants and she's unwilling to apologize for either.
Mia's the only Taggart bride who doesn't have red hair. I didn't mean to make all the others red heads, but it happened so Mia became a blonde.
Which later on led Kim Solomon to be a blonde because I loved the idea that Beckett Kent was attracted to her because she reminded him of his lost love.
