The name Eve St. James is one I apparently have tried to use for years. I know this because I originally named the PI in Steal the Moon Eve. I had to change her name to Jane Nichols because Eve was already taken by the time I got around to publishing STM.
My favorite scene of Eve's happens at the beginning of On Her Master's Secret Service when she finds Ian listening to "Sweet Child of Mine" at Sanctum. It was the moment when I found the heart of who Eve is.
Eve's another character with a hard past, though hers is more of a moment that she gets stuck in for years. She's a survivor of sexual assault, and this story is about how that assault affects not only the woman who was assaulted, but also everyone she loves.
The song that played through my head the whole time I wrote this book is an obscure one from a cult TV show. It's called "Heart Break Wreckage" from Smash, and sums up Alex and Eve beautifully.
