Physical description: 6’2”. Wears glasses. Gold and brown long hair, brushes shoulders, usually pulls it back. Green eyes.

Mom died of breast cancer when Kai was a teenager. He put off his college plans to raise Jared.
Went into the military and sent back money to help his brother. Was engaged but that broke up when he came home to find the very brother he was trying to help sleeping with his fiancee. (Remember people, POV matters and there's two sides to this sucker.)
Dad left when they were young.
Sanctum’s shrink. A psychologist.
A self proclaimed sadist.
Also loves yoga so he's flexible in all ways.
Former Army Ranger who now specializes in treating PTSD in returning soldiers.
Served in Iraq.
After his first office blew up (see You Only Love Twice), Kai bought the building next to new Sanctum thanks to a loan from the Taggarts. (Also it's later revealed that his brother Jared is responsible for a lot of his operating budget.
After the time jump, Kai and Kori's therapy center has expanded and includes a family therapist. It's also the place where the older kids hang out on play nights.

If Kai sounds like a version of Leo from Texas Sirens it's because he probably is. Remember at the time I started Masters and Mercenaries, I couldn't connect the two series and Tag's dudes definitely needed some therapy.
I gave him a man bun to annoy his wife, Kori - who is based on my friend Kori who can't stand man buns.
Kai is one of the only characters I've ever written who will state flat out that he's a sadist. But this is my BDSM world and therefore he's a sadist who gets off on hurting people who enjoy pain. Not a textbook sadist, but certainly more hard core than my other tops.
In the beginning he did have a futon, but I assure you that thing got the boot once the wife moved in. Although maybe their four dogs now use it as a bed....
