When Robert showed up on the page, I wasn't sure if he was going to end up being a good guy or a bad guy. He was proof that Theo always finds someone to hang with -- even while being tortured the dude makes friends. It was way back in Theo's book that he finally let me know who he was. When he tells Theo if he doesn't want Erin and TJ, he'll be there on her doorstep because he wants a family so badly. He forms one over the next several books, becoming the big brother to the Lost Boys. 

Many of my story arcs seem to happen over the course of five books with the third being the top of the roller coaster. So it is for The Forgotten. We reach the top of the coaster and go careening over as the events of Munich unfold and have far reaching consequences for the rest of the series. (And one major consequence for Thieves.)

For those of you interested in the original Latin titles, this would would have been titled Ex Novo which in Latin means From New or built from nothing.
