This was my very first 1001 Dark Nights "novella." It's also a fun book because it takes place at the very same time Dungeon Royale is happening, so I could only use the crew that we left out of that book. That meant getting to showcase some characters who had fallen to the wayside. Sean and Li and Alex and Eve play big parts in this one. It's also the first appearance of Maia Brighton, the future DA and all-around sexual omnivore who was supposed to be 100% awful but turned out far more complex than I counted on.
