Deke has been around for a long time. He showed up with Theo and Case and Ten's men. I think his first real appearance was in the scene where Ten storms MT to get Phoebe out. He shows up and announces how cute the babies are and ends up talking about how he got through his trauma. His sisters kept putting babies in his arms. This was nothing I intended to do anything else with. I often just let the dialogue flow and end up with something I can use later, as I did with this. I worried how to open the book given this was a second chance romance. I found the answer in those words I wrote years before and in the story behind them that Deke did not know.
In this one the bad guy amps up the pressure and Kyle does something dumb. At least everyone else thinks it's dumb. And Boomer gets to show off his skills.
