Sent to steal her secrets, he was unprepared for her submission.
A routine mission…
Sean Taggart is hunting a deadly terrorist, and his only lead is the lovely Grace Hawthorne. She's the executive assistant for an employment agency Sean suspects is a front for illegal activities. To get the truth, he is going to have to get very close to Grace, a task he is all too eager to undertake when he discovers her deliciously submissive nature.
…turns into a dangerous seduction
Soon, Grace Hawthorne is living a double life. By day, she is the widowed mother of two college-aged sons. By night, she submits to Sean's every dark desire. She's living out her wildest fantasies of pleasure—intimate acts of trust she's only read about. As passion engulfs her, a murderer strikes, and Grace learns that Sean has a deeply hidden agenda. Will Sean choose his mission and break her heart or be the Master of her dreams?

There is so much I can say about this book! Of all the books I've ever written, this is the one that changed the most from original draft to published book. Two changes were probably the most important. In the original draft Jake and Adam were lovers who often brought a woman into bed with them. Adam was absolutely the sub and I envisioned a one Dom two subs relationship. It didn't really work for the story so they became the Adam and Jake you know today. Second - in the first draft Ian had a long time sub named Holly and Charlotte didn't exist. I intended for Holly and Ian to break up and him to find her when she was in danger and oops, she had his baby. I didn't entirely toss that story out. It became the basis for Their Virgin Secret and Ian was alone. For now.
There's a lot of me in this book. I often say most authors write themselves and their own very specific fantasies at least for their first books. There's a reason both Abigail from Small Town Siren and Grace from DWLM are plus sized red heads who like to read and wear nice shoes. This is probably how I see myself physically - or hope to through my husband's eyes.
I like to write about things that happened to me - both good and bad. Naturally they get changed a little but DWLM has a good example of me taking something that happened and making it a key scene in a book. And, yes, I'm talking about the swimming pool scene - though mine did not end the way Grace's did. So I used to live in this community where the houses around me had balconies though almost no one used them. Like ever. So late at night when I decided to sneak out and take a swim I often didn't wear a suit. I did this for over a year and never once had a problem. And then one night I'm swimming along and someone across the way is throwing a party and it spills over into the balcony and I then spend the next hour of my life clinging to the edge of the pool praying no one can see me. I send telepathic messages to the love of my life to save me. He does not get them. He does realize I'm not in the house an hour in and comes out and that was when the party went back inside. I made things happier for Grace.
Why a chef? Becasue I was the only cook for roughly 28 years of our marriage and it seemed like a nice thing. Strangely enough my husband's started cooking because he realized how much work that was for me and he's pretty good at it. The dishes Sean makes in the book are pretty much my favorite things to eat.
