There are few tropes in romance that get more debate time than a secret baby book. I personally love a secret baby book, but it has to make sense why the heroine doesn't tell the hero. In this case we're more working with a surprise baby, though I assure you Laurel would have taken her time telling Mitch about her upcoming precious delivery. Instead he finds out when she does and it causes a big old family drama. This is a book about patience and how we sometimes have to give the people we adore space and some grace to grow into the partners they can become.

A trivia note - this is the first appearance of Remy Guidry, who will go on to inspire a whole new series in Butterfly Bayou.
