A Tragic Love Story
Charlotte Dennis’s mission was clear: distract and misdirect CIA operative Ian Taggart by any means necessary. If she failed, she would never see her sister again. With her training, it should have been simple, but after one night in Ian’s arms, she knew that saving her sister would mean losing the man of her dreams.
Ian was tracking a terrorist when he met the beautiful American daughter of a Russian mobster. His instincts told him Charlotte was trouble, but his body craved her like a drug and his heart would not be denied. She took his ring and his collar. For once he was truly happy. But as he closed in on his target, her betrayal cost him his mission while her sacrifice saved his life. As she died in his arms, Ian vowed he would never love again.
A Dangerous Reunion
For six years, Charlotte has thought of nothing but returning to her husband, her Master. Working in the shadows, she has devoted herself to earning a chance to reclaim her place in Ian’s life. But forgiveness isn’t a part of Ian’s vocabulary.
Nothing is more important to Ian Taggart than his new mission. But the information he needs is firmly in the hands of the woman who betrayed him. To catch his most dangerous prey, Ian will have to let Charlotte back into his life. As the hunt takes them to some of the world’s most exotic locations, the danger grows and their passion reignites.
Will Ian forgive his wayward submissive…or lose her again?

This book is the end of the first cycle. M&M books tend to come in five story arcs and Ian closes out the first one by reclaiming his lost bride and taking out the first big bad - Eli Nelson aka Mr. Black. (Well, Charlie did, but don't tell him.) There are so many scenes in this book I loved writing, but the most heartbreaking for me is when Charlie realizes the flowers are for her and there's no way out. She makes the decision to go out on her own terms. But Ian has different plans...
Someone pointed out to me that I like to write assholes who steal blow jobs. This is a prime example though the more dramatic example is in Away From Me. What I can I say? A girl works that hard, she should get something out of it.
I had a song playing while I wrote the scene where Charlie goes into the water. In my head it's the song I associate with Charlotte and Ian. Over the Love by Florence and the Machine was played a million times while I wrote that very complicated action scene. What lines do it for me? "Cause you're a hard soul to save with an ocean in the way, but I'll get around it." It's such a Charlie line for me that my heart aches when I hear it.
The white bikini Charlie is in at the end of the book is a direct nod to Ursella Andress's iconic look in Dr. No.
Why Guns 'n Roses? What's up with the Axel Rose love for Ian? Well, like many things Ian it comes from my husband. He adored G'nR when we were younger and Sweet Child 'O Mine has always resonated with me. The lemon love comes from my husband, too. He doesn't drink coffee, but if he did, it would taste like motor oil. Rich can be very like Ian. He won't point out his preferences though he'll tell me when he loves something and I make note. The sarcasm is all my husband and he did make up the game vagrant or hipster. I wish he hadn't done that. He also has an obsession with pork pie hats. He believes that tell him everything he needs to know about the person wearing on and that is why I put them on Levi Green later in the series.
