Sausage Cheddar Quiche

Ingredients

  • Pastry for 9" Quiche or Pie Pan

  • 1 Lb. Bulk Medium Sausage

  • 1-4oz. can sliced mushrooms, drained (or fresh)

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion

  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper

  • 1 tsp. minced parsley

  • 1/2 tsp. basil leaves

  • dash of garlic powder

  • 1/8 tsp. salt

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup milk

  • 2 eggs

  • Paprika

  • Optional: frozen chopped broccoli that has been thawed and drained.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  1. Prick pie shell and bake until lightly browned. Set aside to cool

  2. Crumble and cook sausage until browned. Drain.

  3. Combine sausage with next 7 ingredients, mixing well

  4. Spoon into quiche shell

  5. Top with cheese (I like mozzarella as well as sharp cheddar)

  6. Combine milk and eggs. Beat just until foamy. Pour over sausage mixture.

  7. Sprinkle with Paprika

  8. Optional: frozen chopped broccoli that has been thawed and drained.

Bake @ 350 for 50 minutes or until milk/egg mixture has cooked and cheese is lightly browned. Remove from oven to cool for at least 30 minutes, for easier cutting.
