Hebrews 6:13-20
Hope is the Anchor for the Soul
13 When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, 14 saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.” 15 And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.
16 Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. 17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. 18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
John 14:1-7
Jesus Says He Will Prepare a Place in Heaven for His Disciples
1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
There is this Great Mystery in the Sacred and Holy and the Divine...So there naturally is this Great Mystery in faith and those who believe in God and His Son...God gives believers the same information He give the non-believer...The one with faith believes in God, while others with that exact information do not believe...So the believer believes for whatever personal reason or reasons he has to believe in God...And for Christians, they also believe in Jesus...So believers are given this hope in their faith and the non-believer grabs at randomness and in a non-purposed for life...For when the believer dies, he has this hope of heaven...When the non-believer dies his life has completely ended...
So as one reads the Book of Hebrews, he sees that it is written completely about Jesus...And I must agree with the Hebrew author who writes that hope is the anchor to my soul...Hope helps us in our lives...And I would like to also write that hope and faith are the anchor to my soul...Jesus is there and has prepared a place for those who believe in Him, and tells us that He is that no one gets to the Father, except through Him...
