Hebrews 11:1-3
Faith
1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for.
3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
John 14:6-7
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
The ideas of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are Supernatural ideas and beliefs...There is a Great Mystery in God’s hiddenness, and it is hard to understand and get our own personal senses to believe what we cannot sense...We believe in many things because we can sense them with our senses...We believe in things that we can see, hear, and touch and understand...But it is hard to see, touch, hear, and understand God and His Holy Spirit...And to understand God, is probably the hardest part of all...How can man explain a God who has Complete Understanding?...How can we understand Him?...What if God hiding is best for us and our faith?...Would and could we understand this, when all we really want is to see Him?...
So faith gets involved with our belief in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit...And the author of Hebrews tells us that faith is the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see...Well, for me, this is a hard definition of belief and faith, if I want to see, feel, or hear God and Jesus...
So God has given us nature to see, to feel, and to sense...God's creating of the universe and all those things around Him fills our senses...
But, even with nature, God and the Trinity are still a mystery...That is part of who God is...He is a Mystery...And He seems to like that role...Man's logic cannot make us understand Him, because He Alone is the Creator, and our Creator...We did not create Him...So we needed help in the understanding apart and away from our senses...
So God gave us Moses, wise men, and prophets, and the Bible to better understand Him further (other than nature and His creation)...
So God would send His Son to dwell among us, to better understand Him (God)...And we learn much from Jesus about God...One of the things we learn is that God is seeking us, all of us...We learn that there is a Kingdom of God...We learn that God wants us to have a relationship with Him and His Son...We learn that God is LOVE and He wants us to love others...We better understand God because of love and who we love...And we also learn that because we also do not understand Jesus, some do not believe in Him also...How does one explain the Son of God to oneself and to others?...
But Jesus was seen, heard, and touched by many in His time...He did many miracles...He is the Way to God, and a reason or the reason to believe in God...He is the Son of God, and God is His Father...We better understand God, because of His Son...
