Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Always the Same
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. believed that the world during his time was increasingly looking at work, and at a company's profit...There were changes coming to company's and he say them...Company's were becoming more enamored with machines and technology for the company's bottom line to grow....And by growing the company's bottom line focus, we were and are taking our eyes off of the man, his wife, and his family...This is a radical shift from Jesus and what He teaches...Dr. King said, “Increasingly, by choice or by accident, this is the role our nation has taken: the role of those who make peaceful revolution impossible by refusing to give up the privileges and the pleasures that come from the immense profits of overseas investments...I am convinced that if we are to get on the right side of the world revolution, we as a nation must undergo a radical revolution of values...We must rapidly begin the shift from a thing-oriented society to a person-oriented society...When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights, are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, extreme materialism, and militarism are incapable of being conquered.”...
The four gospels are all about Jesus...In fact, the entire New Testament is devoted to Jesus...The New Testament was not written about work or technology or the changes we have had since Jesus died on the cross...Their have been many changes in the past two thousand years...Many of them have been obstacles to growing close to Jesus and His Father...When we work to much or focus only on work we can lose track of God...More recent changes are the media and how it can keep our minds off of God and be an obstacle...Technology and new changes can keep us so busy that we are glued to a phone or a screen for too long and forget about God...Let us remember Jesus does not change...He is the same today, tomorrow, and forever...We sin and need a Savior...Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved...
Jesus was a Person Oriented Teacher...He was always teaching others about God...He was always helping others in need...When He gave us His greatest commandment He tells us to love God and to love neighbor...He did not teach much about profits and labor, but dwelt His teachings on helping and serving others...In His Great Commission He wants everyone (not just some) in the whole world to love God and to love every neighbor, both in their own country, but also to love others in the other countries of the world...By loving God and loving our neighbors, we will put God and neighbor over machines, computers, technology, and profits...By keeping our eyes on God and neighbor, we will have a world of harmony and a world of peace...Our smartphone will not be more valuable than our Bible...Jesus' Disciple writing that God so LOVES the entire world that He gave his One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life...For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him...Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s One and Only Son...This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil...Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and will not come into the Light for fear that their deeds will be exposed...But whoever lives by the Truth comes into the Light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God...By writing theses things and by following Jesus' teachings we have a foundation in life, a purpose in life, instead of keeping busy on our work, the latest technology offerings, and the profits of the company's of the world...
