Hebrews 11:1-3
Faith is What You Cannot See
1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for.
3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Evolution makes many inferences about what has happened in the past...Evolution talks about the universe being billions of years old...But we cannot see a billion of years (ago) and we cannot go back into time and see what happened a billion years ago...We cannot go back and see or find out what happened to the very first evolved man and what he did...We cannot go back and see the very first evolved woman when she came to be...Where the first man and woman babies as we know them or were teen or were they fully grown?...To believe in evolution one must believe in things that cannot be seen from the past...We must trust these things that happened as scientists have told us about evolution to believe in it, because we cannot see evolution happen...And as things evolve so slowly and meticulously, we not see them in the future...In a way evolution is a type of something like faith, as explained by the Hebrew author, whom I might add, probably knew nothing of evolution...
What is faith?....The Hebrew author tells us faith is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen...It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it in the future...Men of God in days of old were famous for their faith...By faith—by believing God—we know that the world and the stars and the universe—in fact, all things—were made at God’s command; and that they were all made from things that cannot be seen...
