Psalm 37:4
Trust in the LORD and He Will Give Us the Desires of our Heart
4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
Everything is Beautiful in Its Time
11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Revelation 22:13
God is the Beginning and End
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
Acts 17:26-28
God Appointed our Times When We Would Live
26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
John 1:1-4
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Hebrews 1:1-3
God's Final Word: His Son
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
Revelation 21:5
Jesus Makes All Things New
5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
God and life is a mystery....We read that God created us, and has given us a time to be on earth...Solomon is his Book of Ecclesiastes writes that everything is beautiful in "its" time...There is a proper time for everything...St. Paul tells us that we are on earth by the time that He appointed...God has set eternity in the human heart...The Psalmist tell us that God will give us the desires of our hearts, if we delight in Him...Yet, no one can really fathom what God has done from the beginning to end...And God is the First and the Last, yet God is Eternal and Infinite and there is no end to Him...
St. Augustine of Hippo wrote “Because God has made us for Himself, our hearts are restless until they rest in Him.”...Our hearts have this eternal desire that He has set in our hearts...And He has decided or appointed that time in our hearts and when we are earth...This restless heart argument is a desire for God...We wants and desire things, but what are they?...C. S. Lewis puts it this way, "Creatures are not born with desires unless satisfaction for these desires exists...A baby feels hunger; well, there is such a thing as food... A duckling wants to swim; well, there is such a thing as water...Men feel sexual desire; well, there is such a thing as sex...If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world."...This restless heart desire is an argument that there is a God...Satisfaction in life and our desires will not happen until we meet and are with God...
Man have a natural desire from and for God...We are children of God...And belief in God, gives us pleasure, the hope of great health, the hope of satisfying those things we want and need, and God gives us afterlife, so we will not die...After all Jesus still lives...God is the Great Comforter, the Great Healer, and the Great Protector...He is our Father, and He can do these things...This a natural desire to want and believe in a Father like this...
In our minds God has put this notion of eternity and the afterlife...There is such a thing as infinity or eternity...Things like the universe expand on and on until eternity...Mathematics and numbers go on and on until infinity...And as Solomon says, God is the One who has placed this eternal desire in our hearts...Our hearts are restless, because of Him placing this thought of eternity in our hearts...We want something on earth and then we get the desire satisfied, and then we want something else...When we want something the most, whether it be a place to live, a vehicle, anything -we get it and then what happens?...Thinking about that desire can be greater than living out that great desire...When we have attained that greatest place to live, or the greatest vehicle we want, or whatever we thought was the best and greatest thing...We again start looking for Something?...What is the next great something else?...It is God, He is the only Great Something Else that can satisfy our greatest desires?...We have this innate desire to seek God and find Him...And as we seek Him, we see that there are things of beauty, and those things are beautiful only in its proper time -He sets the time through His Divine Providence....There is this proper time for everything, and there is a proper and appointed time for everyone and everything... No one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end, because He has no end...
Our limited minds and hearts make all this confusing and a great mystery...Man's mind and heart are limited...We cannot see and understand those things of His Providence...God transcends everything...We realize that the next thing we want, the thought after we get is -is that all there is?...Then we are off looking for the next something...Then the next earthly thing no matter what it is, fades after we get it...
God created all things...And He sent His Son to us and for us...The final Word of God is Jesus...All things are made through Him...He is our Way to God, and the answer to argument of desire...He brings beauty to the dull, light to the darkness, and love from hate...When one thinks about who made all things and created us, why shouldn't we have a desire for Him...He is our Father...And His Son will show us the way, the Truth, and eternal life to Him...And this is because He is the way to the Father...This is because He can make all things new...
