John 14:1-4
God's House
1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
Psalm 27:4-6
The House of God
4 One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.
6 Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the Lord.
Hebrews 3:3-6
Jesus is Over God's House
3 Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. 4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. 5 “Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house,” bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future. 6 But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.
God's House is in many places...
God's House, as well as God Himself seems to be all around us...It seems that once He dwelled on Mt. Sinai...Then He instructed Moses to build a tabernacle and that would be the place to worship Him...Then later God's people would build a Temple and that is where people could go and worship Him...But God was in many places...And no matter where He is, He welcomes everyone...His hospitality misses no one...
Jesus spoke of the House of God...He told His Disciples, "My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I AM going there to prepare a place for you?...And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I AM...You know the way to the place where I AM going."...
The Hebrew author tells us that Jesus has been found worthy of a greater honor than Moses...As a Carpenter and a Builder of a house, the house is a place of great comfort and peace...A resting place when we are weary...Every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything...Moses was faithful as a servant in all of God’s house...Moses bore witness to what would be spoken by God in the future...But Christ is faithful as the Son and is over God’s house...And we are His house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we give God glory...
Jesus is over the House of God...The House of God is ever-growing, and God's House is full of LOVE...It is the House that will live on forever and is on an eternal foundation of LOVE, Mercy, Grace, and Truth...
