Description.

Learn math concepts and techniques by solving interesting problems together and individually. The concepts and techniques will be tailored for appropriate age groups.

Tentative Age groups: 8-10, 10-12 y.o.

Group size: 4-6 people

Format: 1 hour once a week

Price: $20 per session. Pay in full in advance for the number of sessions to be attended.

• Visualizing big numbers in the context of nature (e.g. distance to the sun, number of drops in an ocean, etc)
• Geometric progressions and exponential growth
• Combinatorics / factorials

Equations:

• Making and solving equations
• Systems of equations
• Equations with no or multiple solutions

Math tricks:

• Fast counting
• Divisibility properties
• Techniques for memorizing numbers
