This class was a test of everything we've learned in the workshop:
- Starting a conversation with a stranger
- Using names
- Being engaged and curious
- Watching out for signals from the other person (feedback), for example, when the person is distracted.
- Understanding other person feelings and needs
- Understanding your own feelings and needs and expressing them
- Recognizing mixed signals and addressing them
The kids did really well. We had several tests:
1. Each student was talking to a person who pretends to be a stranger and follows different scenarios
2. The students had a short dialog with their partner and verbalized feelings and needs from the dialog. Here are examples of some of the dialogs:
We also tried to role play a conversation with a parent (thank you Masha and Olya), where a child played an adult and an adult played a child. That was fun!
