report day 2 STOP infiltration successful STOP no suspicion must lay low STOP do not rescue STOP destroy upon receipt STOP
ABILITY:
One Minion is drunk, and they learn this. You might register as an evil Minion.
STORYTELLER NOTES:
This is a fairly dynamic character with a lot of fun interactions: the initial decision to make a Minion drunk impacts game balance, so consider having the Sleeper register as a Minion to give town reasons to push them out of the game, or out themselves.
The Sleeper goes deep into enemy lines, posing as a Minion in order to nullify an evil player's ability.
Playing as the Sleeper
For as long as you are alive, you can be assured that while sober, an in play Minion is unable to function as intended. This should provide some assurance that, even though you aren’t able to out your role, you are providing a benefit to town, even if that puts you at risk. This is not information you can out to town freely, but if you are suspected of being a Minion yourself, you may consider outing your information and trying to take a Minion with you in the process. The Storyteller may not grant your wish, but at least you tried, no?
Example
Ethan is the Sleeper. The Poisoner is told that they are made drunk, but neither state as much to their respective teammates. Ethan dies on Night 3 and the Poisoner regains their ability.
Bluffing as the Sleeper
If you are a Minion bluffing as the Sleeper, it’s crucial that you abide by the rules of the character and stay quiet about a Sleeper being in play: not dying when revealing your role might give the game away! That said, having a Minion “malfunction” might sell a world where you really exist, and may curry the town’s favour, even if they won’t want to push on the how or why. Then, when the time is right, you can spring to life and cause terror in town. You may now be outed as an evil player, but in a diminished town that can’t afford to waste time getting rid of you.
Example
Josh is the Imp bluffing as the Sleeper. Josh suggests that they believe the Marionette - which is not in play - has been "slept", and therefore the Demon wouldn't know who they are, leading good players to question their alignment.
Jinxes
Baron: If the Baron is made drunk by the Sleeper, the Sleeper learns there is a Baron in play.
Marionette: If the Marionette is made drunk by the Sleeper, the Demon does not learn who they are.
Evil Twin: If the Evil Twin is made drunk by the Sleeper, they are still paired with a good player, but the game does not end if the good player dies.
Summoner: If the Summoner is drunk on the 3rd night, the Summoner chooses which Demon, but the Storyteller chooses which player.
Vizier: If the Vizier loses their ability, they learn this. If the Vizier is executed while they have their ability, their team wins.
