They told me I have an explosive personality, and I chose to take that literally.
ABILITY:
On Night 1, choose a good player to hold the bomb. Each night*, that player chooses a living player to hold the bomb. If the Demon chooses a player with the bomb, they choose again. You learn evil players holding the bomb.
STORYTELLER NOTES:
Remember that dead players still choose to pass the bomb at night. If they choose a player who is already dead by some other means, prompt them to choose again.
If the Alchemist gains this ability, the subsequent death is at the Storyteller's discretion: consider killing characters detrimental to town, or even Minions if the game requires rebalancing.
The Firebug plays hot potato to give the Demon extra killing power.
Playing as the Firebug
The Firebug gets to play with bombs, which can carry serious consequences if they ever go off. Your job is to discern who might be holding the bomb at any given moment, and have your Demon target them in the night to score an extra kill. As an added bonus, if evil players ever hold the bomb, you'll learn about it, so use that to your advantage and try to co-ordinate your actions.
This character requires a bit of good fortune to be effective, but know that as long as you live, the bomb is out there, somewhere. Pinning down its location will accelerate the game rapidly and lets your Demon sprint to the finish line.
Example
Russell is the Firebug, who chooses the Washerwoman on Night 1. The Washerwoman proceeds to choose the Firebug on Night 2. The Firebug learns this. On Night 3, they pass the bomb to their fellow Minion, who is killed by the Vigormortis the same night. Since the Firebug's bomb has gone off, the Vigormortis is allowed to choose again.
Fighting the Firebug
While it's scary to have an explosive hot potato bouncing around town, there is some information to be had in the event that it ever goes off. If you passed the bomb to a player one night, and then the next night a double kill occurs, while it's possible that the Demon got lucky, there's also a chance you passed it to an evil player, who co-ordinated the next night with their Demon! Triangulate this information with any other information going around town, and you might be able to pin down the evil team as quickly as they are managing to kill your fellow players. Remember that the Firebug's power is greatly diminished with no living evil players to bounce off, so if you can secure those vital Minion kills, the Firebug is all but removed from play, as you'll be able to openly discuss where the bomb will go next.
Example
June is the Oracle. On Night 3, two players die, and June learns a 1. June knows that one of the two players killed was likely a Minion killed by a Vigormortis. In a 9 player game, June knows that no other Minions can hold the bomb, and only the Demon remains as a valid evil bomb holder.
Jinxes
Alchemist: If the Alchemist gains the Firebug's ability and the Demon chooses a player holding the bomb, the Demon does not choose who dies next. The Alchemist does not learn if evil players hold the bomb.
Goon: If the Goon is chosen to hold the bomb, that player can change the Goon's alignment and become drunk. The Goon holds the bomb regardless of whether this happens.
