How dare you? I'll have you know I am good friends with Baron Morozov - VERY good friends - and he can have you hanged for this. Who do you think you are? You know, you're awfully talkative for a lowly librarian. I bet you don't even read books. I've read over a hundred. Not to mention--
ABILITY:
One Townsfolk player who nominates you or votes on your execution is drunk until dawn, even if you are dead. You cannot self-nominate.
STORYTELLER NOTES:
Evil players can also be made drunk via the Egotist's ability. Make sure to mark players as drunk immediately after the nomination commences in case they are a waking ability like the Slayer, Artist, etc.
As with the Butler or Golem, there is no penalty per se to self-nominating, but remind the Egotist that they cannot to ensure it doesn't happen again.
The Egotist drunks and befuddles those who would dare to nominate them.
Playing as the Egotist
As an Outsider, it's likely you'll want out of town, and quickly - but your ability means that you are a liability. If you're nominated, it may be worth trying to rally votes to ensure the damage you deal is as little as possible, but let town know of the damage nonetheless. If possible, try to rally Outsiders to vote on your execution, and hope that evil players join in, or ask spent roles that don't mind being made drunk to stack on the votes. This should mitigate the worst of your ability, and ensure town's information is as sound as possible.
Example
Andre is the Egotist. The Artist nominates them on Day 1. They are immediately drunk, and their Artist question yields arbitrary information later in the day.
Bluffing as the Egotist
Bluffing as the Egotist, while possible, is difficult, because you run the risk of town wanting you out ASAP. With that said, the threat of being made drunk might be enough to persuade people not to nominate or vote on your execution. If you have a Poisoner or Lady Lace in your arsenal, you can simulate the Egotist's ability by poisoning a player that was involved in a claimed Egotist vote. So let your bluff be your shield that protects you from execution!
Example
Violet is the Poisoner bluffing as the Egotist. They are nominated by the Clockmaker, and the claimed Fortune Teller votes on their execution. After surviving, at night, Violet poisons the Fortune Teller.
