Live your life by a compass, not a clock.
ABILITY:
You start knowing the largest number of living good players adjacent to each other.
STORYTELLER NOTES:
Characters that misregister, such as the Recluse or Spy, can impact the Cartographer's information.
The Cartographer learns where the majority of good players might reside.
Playing as the Cartographer
Find your line! This is essential especially if the number of adjacent good players is a large one, so finding the chunk of players who are more likely to be trusted than not is of great help to town. This is a role that can easily extract claims from players if your number seems reliable, so you can serve as a valuable conduit for information, and create confirmations around your own information.
Remember that Outsiders count as good players, but Outsiders that cause misregistration such as the Spy or Recluse can corrupt your information. Keep this in mind when putting together worlds.
Example
Danny is the Cartographer who learns a 5. Near him is the Grandmother confirming a nearby player, and a neighbour dies at night. It is likely that Danny is in the longest line of good players.
Bluffing as the Cartographer
There are two ways to bluff as the Cartographer: you can either include yourself and perhaps Minions in the longest line of "good" players - or alternatively, you might consider placing the line where it actually is to lend credence to your bluff, especially if you know that certain roles will be able to confirm other good players. Just because the number is accurate doesn't mean you can't shift the line slightly to include those you need to protect.
Example
Kris is the Assassin, bluffing as the Cartographer. He notes that the longest line of good players is 6. The Scarlet Woman is included in this, who proceeds to push on those outside of the line, including the Demon.
