Note that the Missionary is not prone to death unless they specifically nominate a player without asking permission, or if permission is not granted. Consider not killing them in case there is suspicion around them, else you risk confirming them.
The Missionary risks death if they nominate without the permission of the person they are nominating.
Playing as the Missionary
Always say please and thank you.
You may want to nominate without permission in order to confirm your identity, as a Mutant might, but this isn't a guarantee, so just be nice. It takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile.
Example
Sarah is the Missionary. They request permission from the Mayor before nominating, and the Mayor says no. The Missionary nominates them anyway, and they die during the night.
Bluffing as the Missionary
No, seriously, always say please and thank you.
This is a straightforward bluff, in that you simply have to follow the golden rule of the Missionary. If you do, there is little reason for town to suspect you - but if there is an opportunity for a double kill, you may want to consider nominating out of turn to confirm yourself, assuming you are expendable at that point in the game.
Example
Sean is the Assassin bluffing as the Missionary. They nominate the Fortune Teller without asking permission. That night, the Assassin selects themselves, resulting in two deaths overnight.
