ABILITY:
You start knowing a secret phrase. Once per day, if 5 or more players live and you say it publicly during a nomination, that nominee can't die until dusk.
STORYTELLER NOTES:
Consider giving the Cleric a phrase a little more obvious than what you might give a Yaggababble. The Cleric is a Townsfolk and should be in some way discernible by the evil team so that they aren't entirely hidden.
The Cleric uses its words to protect its allies.
Playing as the Cleric
Your ability protects players of your choosing, so choose wisely. Unfortunately, your ability can protect evil players in the same way it can protect good ones, so learning who to trust and keeping them safe from execution is invaluable. Use your ability sparingly to ensure you aren't caught out, and spread the good word before it's too late.
Example
Zak is the Cleric. On Night 1, he learns the phrase "surprise Virgin!" - Zak says this phrase when nominated, and despite a majority of votes, is not executed that day.
Bluffing as the Cleric
If you're a protective role such as the Devil's Advocate, or something that can't die like the Lleech, your options are pretty obvious. Mask your protection - or your immunity - as the Cleric's ability! Alternatively, if no such roles exist but you choose to bluff as the Cleric, consider mis-speaking when saying your phrase, saying it too late, or just flat out implying you're poisoned or drunk as a ploy to insist upon your character, but not necessarily your sobriety.
Example
Idris is the Devil's Advocate bluffing as the Cleric, using their ability to protect good players. On Night 4, they choose the Demon, state their 'phrase', and the Demon does not die when executed.
