The Mole engineering machine is a support vehicle aimed at assisting ground vehicles with its healing ability and holding ground with the help of turrets. It is armed with the "Crusher" drill which can attack land troops and buildings.
The mole deploys up to 3 turrets at once at the chosen cells. The turrets have a limited lifespan. Subject to cooldowns, the Mole can have up to 5 turrets on the battlefield at once, but this only occurs at high classes
Turrets provide fire support, and they can shoot helicopters and any ground units. They have a high rate of fire but are quite fragile. They can be hidden by chameleon fog too so they can be deadly. The turrets fire from close/medium range
When reaching 40% life remaining, the Mole completely goes underground, massively reducing damage taken.
The mole remains underground for a fixed amount of time before returning to the surface. If the Mole is ordered to move, the ability is cancelled.
Units are still able to target the mole when it has gone underground
Very high HP
Very high armor
Fast movement speed
Very quick deploying time
Large damage potential with turrets
Vulnerable to fighters due to lack of anti air
Its drill attack is essentially point blank, which can lead to its destruction from enemy units
The 4 main aspects of the Mole that determine its utility are the turrets, healing ability and the drill.
These super high fire rate autocannons are for fire support of the army. They have low HP and low armor, but can deal a decent amount of damage. The poor survivability means that head on or clustered placement of the turrets will be basically useless. Perfect timing is recommended to place the turrets. They can only be placed while the Mole is deployed. A feature was added that automatically stops the Mole while it's moving to allow for turret placement.
The best moment to place Mole turrets is when your army comes under fire from the enemy army. The best placement is in a relatively central position ahead of your army, extremely spaced apart and close to the enemy army. Why? This choice of placement means the enemy must now choose targets. If the enemy continues to fire at your army, the turrets deal free damage. If the enemy decides to fire at the turrets, your army continuously deals damage while gaining some time for the Mole's healing to kick in. Spaced placement means that extra time is gained when enemy turns to face a distant turret. But in most cases, when your army is under fire and the turrets are placed between you and the enemy, this usually causes shock/panic and the enemy will normally retreat. And placing the turrets close to the enemy army means the enemy suffers damage on retreat.
The only time to place turrets clustered together is when you're trying to destroy a Seraphim that is close by and trying to harass your army. It's best to try place the turrets under the nose of the seraphim, lowering the chances for it to retreat unscathed. Clustering the turrets means they deal focused damage on that single target.
Mole can be hidden under the chameleon, along with its turrets, thus the efficiency of the Mole increases when combined with fog.
The Mole heals vehicles while it is in the entrenched state, with a healing radius of about 4 cells. It's a good idea to space your vehicles within this healing radius while attacking/defending so vehicles can regenerate health while they are fighting the enemy. It is also possible to quickly heal your army after an attack attempt, so you can quickly resume the attack with freshly healed units. The Mole's healing effect is amplified if used alongside the common recovery boost.
It's not advisable to charge the Mole into an enemy army, as the focused fire on the Mole can cause it to take massive damage or even get destroyed. It's recommended to use the drill against enemy buildings, such as bunkers or rocket towers. When necessary the Mole must retreat and return to the entrenched state to help other vehicles and also prevent itself from being destroyed.
Tank
The Mole has a very high survivability, especially when considering its Shelter ability. This means that at Headquarters level 3 it can be placed in front of your army to soak up damage for other units and help them survive. This will even work when using Chameleon as its support, as the enemy will then start to force fire units manually, usually with fewer degrees of accuracy.
