Rocket Tower

Anihilates Vehicles in its vicinity

Rocket Towers are great at destroying approaching ground armies from afar, but need to be protected by other buildings or units due to their comparatively low Armor.

How to Use

The Rocket Tower is a defense building that is first unlocked at HQ2. It specializes in destroying vehicles, but is also effective against infantry due to its significant splash damage radius. Of all units and buildings in the game, the Rocket Tower is what goes through the biggest changes from being unlocked until it is maxed at the higher ranks of legendary league. This makes giving a general advice on their usage difficult, which is why it will be classified by the number of rockets it shoots.

2 Rockets per Salvo (Rank 17 and below):

At these ranks the Rocket Tower needs to be placed at the exact side from which an attack is expected as their range is too low to reach other parts of the base. In general it is recommend to only build 1 Rocket Tower at each entrance and rely on the help of units to defend.

3 Rockets per Salvo (Rank 18 - Rank 22):

At these ranks the Rocket Tower has significantly higher range and also out-ranges Jaguars making them an effective counter. It is now also possible to place Bunkers as meat-shields before the Rocket Towers, as most units will still be unable to attack the Bunkers without evading the Rocket Towers.

4 Rockets per Salvo (Rank 23 and higher):

At these ranks the Rocket Tower has enough range to fire over half of the entire base, especially when Defense Boosts come into play. This allows them to be placed on the sides of the base, while still defending the front, which makes taking them out a lot harder.

The biggest enemies of the Rocket Tower are Mammoth, Avia and Chameleon. What they have in common is that in one way or another, the Rocket Tower is unable to attack them under normal circumstances. The Mammoth as a siege type special vehicle, is able to out-range the Rocket Tower, leaving it completely vulnerable, which makes having a few Vertexes or Thors, who are its hard counter a good practice.

Avia on the other hand can't be targeted by the Rocket Tower at all, as it only attacks ground units. Vertexes are again a good option to solve this, but Air Defenses are usually the better choice.

When facing Chameleon, it is recommended to have Assaults run into the fog, revealing the units hidden in it and enabling the Rocket Tower to defend itself. At the same time, they also function as a great meat shield as they are capable of soaking up a significant amount of damage. Alternatively it is also possible to send Cyclones into the fog, as they can be used to yield a similar effect.
