Zeus

An Unstoppable Behemoth

What Zeus lacks in mobility it makes up in pure destructive power and survivability, where it is without equal amongst land units.

Strengths

  • Very high damage against vehicles and buildings

  • Very high durability which makes it good to tank shots for other units

  • Can defend against low altitude avia like Cyclone or Dragonfly

  • In high numbers its splash allows it to counter anti-tank infantry like Grenadiers

Weaknesses

  • Very slow

  • Vulnerable to aircraft like Hawks

How to use

The Zeus is a very versatile mid-game unit available from HQ level 3 onwards. It has 2 weapons, a Thermoelectric Gun to fight vehicles and a Ghost Rocket Launcher to defend against helicopters, which allows it to be useful against almost every unit in the game.

Zeus is at its strongest when used in high numbers to defend narrow passages as its main main weapon has a pretty decent splash radius and good range. This splash damage also makes it very useful to counter Chameleon by force firing into what is usually referred to as its "fog" or to annihilate enemy infantry as they tend to cluster together very closely. So it could be said, that amassing Zeus is key to making them strong.

In higher leagues, it is also advised to support Zeus with Typhoon as air defense and Energy Shield to give it additional armor making it even more efficient.

Dragonflies can prove to be a serious threat to Zeus as they are cheaper, more CP efficient and significantly faster while also being roughly the same strength in a 1v1. This means they should only ever be engaged with superior numbers or with the 2 support units mentioned above.

It is important to never let the enemy pass your Zeus, as they are unable to efficiently chase after other units due to their low movement speed, making it their biggest flaw. Walls can be an effective means of prevention if such a thing happens, as they will keep the enemy units outside a base until the Zeus can arrive.

Some tactics involve running Riflemen in between the Zeus to try and distract them and will also cause them to damage each other due to the aforementioned high area of effect of their main attack. So if such a thing happens it is important to manually target the enemies which are further away and let the rockets of Zeus take care of the closer ones instead.
