Tournaments

This mode is first unlocked at rank 7. It consists of a variety of different game modes which are playable for 2 weeks each. Afterward the winners are announced and a 1-day cooldown begins before the 1-day training phase of the next tournament. This training phase is for practice, as games during that time don't count to the leaderboard, and don't use up one of your maximum 30 tournament battles per individual tournament. However, please note that you will not gain any skill cards from training battles, and any stars you earn from training battles will count towards your tournament star total.

Keep in mind that in order to play tournament battles, your tournament star total must be less than or equal to 50% (or half) of your world war star total when you begin your battles. You also need to have a minimum of 40% overall win rate.

In general, Tournaments offer much higher battle rewards as well as skill cards if you win a battle. This causes players to play a lot more seriously and boost much more than usual, so come prepared. Additionally, the 50 best players will be awarded Gold and Tokens and the 10 best players get medals for their profile as well.

Players are separated into leagues based on their player rank. Each league has its own leaderboard and rewards. The amount of Tournament points on which the ranking is based upon also varies by league and is as follows:

  • Steel League: 7-17 points per win for a max total of 455

  • Bronze League: 8-18 points per win for a max total of 485

  • Silver League: 9-19 points per win for a max total of 515

  • Gold League: 10-20 points per win for a max total of 545

  • Diamond League: 11-21 points per win for a max total of 575

  • Star League: 14-24 points per win for a max total of 665

Usually the points you get per win increase with each successive win and reset to the minimum after a battle was lost.

Gamemodes:

  • Behind the Wall: Deathmatch against an enemy, but both players are protected by an AI base that can't be repaired and won't produce any units. It is only necessary to destroy all human player buildings but not those of the AI. Maps in this Tournament include Thorny Path, Two Mountains, and Veracruz.

  • By Chance: Deathmatch against an enemy with 4 to 5 flags providing different advantages. The benefits which appear in regular time intervals include extra resource containers, free assault vehicles (player-controlled), free special vehicles (player-controlled), assault squad (AI-controlled), aviation support consisting of cyclones or airstrikes (AI-controlled), 20 extra cp, and extra vision. All of these bonuses except the one for extra cp starts to get stronger the longer you hold them, but reset to their initial bonuses when their owner changes. Maps in this Tournament include Risk Area and more.

  • Searching the Nautilus: The players have to gather special containers, which work like Flags on land but disappear after being collected, to win the battle. In past Tournaments, the amount needed to win tended to be 10 containers. Alternatively, it is also possible to destroy all enemy buildings and units to win. Maps include Fisherman's Harbor, Cuba, and more.

  • Pumpkin Madness: A special tournament event. Where players have to gather pumpkins on the map. Once gathered, a pumpkin can have a good or bad effect. Units and buildings can explode on either side. Which will inform the player with "GOOD Pumpkin!" or "BAD Pumpkin!" popping up on the screen. During and right after this tournament, Gear Games will hand out tokens to those who count extra Pumpkins in Youtube fan videos.

  • Battle for Christmas Trees: A special tournament event. Where players have to gather Christmas trees on the map. Once gathered, a Christmas tree can have a blue, red, or yellow crate alongside several resource crates. Which will inform the player with "Merry Christmas!" popping up on the screen. After the match, all gathered crates will open up, giving the player extra items like boosts, money, gold, etc. During and right after this tournament, Gear Games will hand out tokens to those who count extra Christmas tree's in Youtube fan videos.
