Method of presentation: Classes will include short lectures, discussions and demonstrations as to best dispute resolution practices



METHOD OF EVALUATION

A short quiz (early in the term) along with performance assessments arising out of the role play assignments. Class participation in reading material discussions will also factor in to the students’ final grade. 



COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed to introduce the student to dispute resolution (“DR”) mechanisms as they exist within the framework of civil actions in Alberta. The student will become familiar with the kinds of DR procedures available, and when best to use a particular kind. Practical “role play” type exercises will give the student “hands on” experience in negotiation and DR.
