Open-book exam worth 80%, virtual/online exercises/scenarios worth 20%


COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course covers the law of evidence using both theoretical and practical components. Topics covered will include (time permitting): general principles of admissibility, exclusionary rules, hearsay, confessions, character evidence, similar acts, prior consistent statements, opinion evidence, privilege, prior sexual history, types/methods of evidence, and evaluation of evidence.


SPECIAL COMMENTS

Part of the grade for this course will be based on participation in online discussions and exercises/scenarios – as noted above participation in these activities will impact the mark.
