METHOD OF EVALUATION

The primary method of evaluation for this course is a combination of weekly assignments worth 20% of the grade and an open-book final examination worth 80% of the grade.



COURSE DESCRIPTION

An introduction to construction law, including a review of tendering, common contractual relationships (owner-architect, owner-contractor, contractor-subcontractor); common construction delivery models; review of standard construction forms; changes and delays; termination rights; warranties; indemnities; bonding and insurance; interaction with tort law; limitations of liability; builder’s lien legislation; payment terms; and dispute resolution.
