Element of Nature

I came up with my idea for this project because I think dragons are very interesting, and this project had to be connected to an element. I wanted to connect it to wind, I think that the color green and wings remind me of wing. I decided to make this into a dish, because it also had to be functional. Because of the way I made the edges, it doesn't really seem like a dish, but that's okay. 

I started this project by rolling out a slab and then cutting it into a wing shape. Then I carved out the inside parts of where the wings are, around where the bones would be. I rounded off all the corners to make it look more natural, and I added a spike, so I guess it's a jewelry dish now. I used the green underglaze v-353, and then used the sgraffito technique to add lines. I used the clear overglaze HF-10 on it, and that actually changed the color of the green. I really like how it looks now.

I do like how this turned out, but I feel like it doesn't fit the requirements of the project the way it should. If I could change something about this project, I would spend more time thinking of a good idea that matches the requirements for it.
