dinosuar #1
dinosaur #2
For this project I decided to make two dinosaur dishes. They are inspired by Brett Kern, because he makes a lot of dinosaurs. Surprisingly I didn't do a clown for this project, but I really wanted to make something that I could finish before the semester ended, and I also really wanted to make a green dino dish.
I started by making a pattern on a piece of paper. It was a very basic dino shape, so I cut it out and put it on a slab of clay in order to cut it out. The first attempt at this actually failed, because I cut out a dinosaur slab and then started attaching the side, but class ended and it dried out before the next class started. The next class, I restarted and finished the first dinosaur in time. I also made a second dino, but I didn't want to attach a side on this one. Instead, I carved part of it out so its not a very deep dish. I used C-55 on the first dinosaur, which turned out a little more orange than I though it would be. I used C-41 on the green dino, and a tiny bit of black HF-1 on both of them for the eyes.
I really like how they turned out, they are very simple and one of them is more orange than I expected, but they look cute.
