Micron Pen and Alcohol Marker on Watercolor Paper

6" x 9"

This is for the Beautiful Oops project, where you start with an ink splotch and then make something from it.

This is drawn on a piece of watercolor paper, and it was first sketched out with a graphite pencil. I was originally going to outline it with Microns, but since I decided to use alcohol markers I had to use Copic fineliners so that they wouldn't bleed. All the color on the piece was done with alcohol markers, and white acrylic paint was used for the outlines of the eyes, and the eye in the ink blot.

I came up with this idea right after I found out that we were doing this project again. I wanted to draw a puppet like the ones I drew in the negative space leaves project last year. I just picked up a piece of paper that had an ink blot near the bottom, and I only realized that it kind of looked like smoke when I was almost done with the drawing. I painted and eye in the middle of the ink blot because it makes it look like it's surrounded by some sort of smokey aura or something.
