Duck Stamp

TRASH!

9" x 12"

Alcohol Marker on Watercolor Paper

This is a project for the Maine junior duck stamp competition. It is a black-bellied whistling duck. And also a clown.

For this project I used watercolor paint, alcohol marker, micron pen, and also some random colored pencil, which is why there is a strange rectangle at the bottom. The duck is drawn on 9"x 12" watercolor paper, and the clown was drawn on some slightly thicker watercolor paper and then taped on. The duck it drawn with alcohol marker, and the clown is painted with watercolor and outlined with micron pen.

I picked the black-bellied whistling duck for this project because I thought it looked very funny and it would also be a good duck to ride on if it was giant. The actual drawing of the duck is terrible and I didn't really try, which is unfortunate, but I didn't want to place at all. Mostly because my duck from last year shouldn't have placed. I was going to paint the clown onto the duck originally, but then I decided not to. I was going to actually do well drawing the duck without the clown. And then I changed my mind again because I was feeling lazy, so I drew a bad duck and then added a clown on top.
