Cowbell Clown
Cowbell, cotton fabric, wool
19" x 5" x 3"
This is my third sustained investigation, which is supposed to answer the inquiry question, how can I bring characters to life and make them noticeable or interactable in unusual ways. I made this clown out of a cowbell.
The base of this clown is a random cowbell that my dad found on amazon. I covered it with fabric and hot glue. The head is made of more fabric, and the nose and hair is wool. The handle of the cowbell was an empty rectangle shape, so I put a piece of foam in it. The bow is made of ribbon and it was stuffed with string.
I started by gluing a piece of fabric onto the cowbell with hot glue, and making the arms and legs. The arms are made of rectangles that I folded in half and sewed together, so there's only a seam on one side. The legs are the same, just wider. I glued those onto the cowbell body, and then I made the head. I needed to stick foam into the handle of the cowbell so that I could sew the head on. I added the nose and the hair next. I stuffed the arms and legs and then added the feet. The pattern that I used for the feet is that same one that I used for the murder mystery clown. I added the eyes on last, and I did those with acrylic paint.
