Hand Narrative

Watercolor and Micron Pen on Watercolor Paper

The hand narrative project is a project that should be able to tell a story with two pure contour zentangle hands included in the artwork. I drew a clown with its hands attached backwards.

I made this on and 11"x15" piece of watercolor paper. I sketched it out with a pencil, and then did all the outlining and the zentangles with a micron pen. The clown is colored with watercolor, and the background is colored with Blick markers.

I wanted to make the drawing look like a clown sticking its hands out, and I thought it would be funny if I attached them backwards. I didn't think it had any meaning, but my friend somehow analyzed the whole thing and believes that I unintentionally made it very meaningful and important to me. I have no clue what she's talking about. I got a bit lazy with the background, so I'm not very proud of it, but I like how the clown and the designs on the hands turned out.
