Artist Statement
For this project, I started out by making a collage out of pictures I found in magazines. I then glued those pictures to a piece of paper. After I got my collage finished, I started on the painting. I started by sketching out the features of the collage onto a canvas and then painted over the sketching and got the final result.
For this project, I used glue, a sheet of paper, and multiple pictures from a magazine for the collage. For the painting, I sketched using a graphite pencil onto a sheet of canvas that I then painted using acrylic paints.
I feel so-so about how this piece turned out. I had trouble mixing the paints to match the rocks so the rocks don't look as good as I would want them to look, but I think that the water and the sky turned out really well. I enjoyed making this project more than my previous painting project, mainly because there was less paint mixing, and I am not too mad at the end result.
