Word Logo Artist Statement:

For this piece I got a random word (seal) and designed a logo around it. The goal was to created a piece that had the word incorporated into it and to make sure to have as little "details" as possible and the most amount of bold possible.

For this piece I used graphite pencil to sketch it out and then sharpie to fill it in and get the desired final look.

After getting my word I did some sketching in my sketchbook of possible ideas for the design. I did designs for the animal seal as well as a seal like a wax seal. I decided on using an animal seal for my design and just squished the word "seals" into it.

FHS Logo Artist Statement:

For this piece I decided to make a logo for my school's outing club. The goal was to create a recognizable design that didn't have too many details and had bold lettering.

For the first version on paper I used graphite to sketch out the design and a fine point pen and a Sharpie to finalize it. For the final version of the logo I used photoshop to neaten the intial drawing and push the contrast even further.

This was my first time using photoshop for drawing purposes and I really enjoyed it. I had some previous knowledge of using photoshop from a photograohy class I took and this project just helped to further my comfort using the program. I am really pleased how the final design ended up looking as I pretty much re-drew the entire first draft.
